Catholics are called to give alms to the less fortunate. St Clare’s students have certainly answered this call through a variety of fundraising initiatives in 2024.
This Term, we have begun our Winter Appeal in partnership with the St Vincent de Paul Society. This will involve donating a range of items such as winter essentials, food and toiletries for the homeless and disadvantaged in our local communities. The focus of this year’s efforts will be on the Working Homeless, an emerging group of people who are experiencing housing hardship and disadvantage despite being in employment.
Donations are accepted on Mondays and Fridays during Homeroom.
In addition, our Year 12 students will also raise money for the Winter Appeal by participating in the Vinnies ‘School SleepOut Challenge’ in the College hall on 21 June. The aim is for them to gain an appreciation for some of the hurdles that our local homeless community members face every night.
We warmly thank our community for your generous support of our student’s fundraising initiatives.
