St Clare’s College provides multiple opportunities for our students to develop their STEM capabilities. At times, this is during regular classes, such as Design and Technology portfolios or iSTEM activities; however, it also occurs through our integrated projects and the many design thinking challenges we participate in throughout the year.

To celebrate the hard work our students put into their innovative STEM designs, some of these works are chosen to be entered into the annual Sydney Catholic Schools STEM MAD Competition.

STEM MAD is a program of state and national student competitions that encourage students to address real world problems by applying Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) learnings to make a difference (MAD) in the world by acting for justice and the common good.

We are so proud of our St Clare’s College students who achieved the following results in the 2024 Competition:

1st Place – Chargeroo (Sophie Roy, Sophie Roszkowski, Aoife Walsh-Sams, Lily Taylor, Grace Davies)

3rd Place – BioStep (Adelaide Lidden)

5th Place – MyMetro (Ambra Dumitrescu Raducanu, Aislinn Walsh-Sams, Tiger Wyvill, Arabella Knight)

Our place getters now move through to the National Competition in November.
