Congratulations to the St Clare’s College Waverley Class of 2025 on your outstanding Higher School Certificate (HSC) results!

The College achieved a top 100 state ranking in The Sydney Morning Herald, placing 77th overall. Forty-six per cent of students achieved an ATAR above 85, reflecting the strong academic performance across the cohort.

This success included 133 Distinguished Achievers and four All Rounders, marking the third highest number of All Rounders in Sydney Catholic Schools.

St Clare’s College Waverley Principal Ann Freeman congratulated Year 12 on their effort and achievements.

I felt a huge sense of pride when I saw the results of our Class of 2025. It is extremely satisfying to know that the hard work of the entire community – students, teachers, and parents – translated into such tangible academic achievement.

“Among the highlights, 10 of the 31 courses offered at the College achieved 100 per cent Bands 5 and 6, 100 per cent of standard courses were above state average, four out of five extension courses were above state average, and overall, 97 per cent of courses offered surpassed the state average. These results are a testament to the dedication, resilience, and passion of our students”.

“The key to our HSC success has been a data-informed yet student-focused approach, where students receive explicit, high-quality feedback that drives significant academic growth. This is combined with highly experienced teachers who set high expectations, supported by a holistic approach to student wellbeing and development”.

“Our students are encouraged to find their passions, excel in their subjects, and embrace a growth mindset. Excellence across creative and practical subjects is also reflected in nominations for Onstage (Drama), Callback (Dance), ARTEXPRESS (Visual Arts), and SHAPE (Design & Technology and Textiles)”.

“What impresses me most about the Class of 2025 is the way the students came together to support each other, overcoming individual challenges and obstacles while setting a new benchmark for future cohorts. These accomplishments were made possible through strong relationships between students and staff, personalised feedback, and a supportive learning environment where high expectations are matched with high support,” Ms Freeman said.
