Congratulations to the St Clare’s College Waverley Class of 2023 on your outstanding Higher School Certificate (HSC) results! 

Our school was among the top 100 in the state, rising four places to 70th in The Sydney Morning Herald rankings. 

We recorded 92 Distinguished Achievers, one All Rounder and one Top Achiever, with Lily Wendler placing seventh in the state in Geography. 

All courses were above state average, with an overall Band 6 rate of 21.1 per cent, while the Dux of the cohort received the highest ATAR (99.5) the College has seen in recent years. 

College Principal, Ann Freeman, congratulated Year 12 on their fantastic effort and achievements.

“Our students’ determination and supportive spirit was incredibly impressive,” she said. 

“Their achievements are the result of a cohesive and collaborative cohort who demonstrated significant grit and determination, supported by dedicated teachers. 

“We want to continue to ensure that all students grow and experience their personal success.” 

SUCCESS ACROSS THE SYSTEM 

Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS) has once again achieved outstanding results in the 2023 HSC with nine of its 33 secondary schools ranked among the top 100 high schools in NSW.

A total of 18 schools ranked among the top 150 high schools—one more than last year—strengthening SCS’s position as one of the top performing systems in Australia.

SCS recorded an impressive 2780 Distinguished Achievers, 47 Top Achievers and 67 All Rounders.

Notably, eight SCS students also received HSC First in Course honours.
