2023 has seen St Clare’s College supporting a variety of worthy causes through many student-led fundraising initiatives.

St Clare’s staff and students have been honoured to share the gift of giving to those in need in our community, and all the more so as we enter the Christmas season.

Our support of Ronald McDonald House Charity (RMHC) Sydney continued this year. St Clare’s VET Hospitality students recently carefully planned, designed and catered a beautiful Christmas high tea feast for RMHC volunteers. We also fundraised at our St Clare’s Under the Stars Christmas event, resulting in over $3,500 being donated to RMHC.

To support Catholic Care Sydney, students made and sold a range of products at the St Clare’s Under the Stars Christmas Market. Products included handmade soap, earrings, laser cut tree decorations and Christmas cookies. The girls had a sellout evening, resulting in over $1,000 being  donated to Catholic Care Sydney.

Primary and high school students benefited from St Clares’ fundraising efforts for the Catholic Education Foundation. This foundation enables opportunities for all within Sydney Catholic Schools. Our students held a fundraising mufti day and BBQ, and the resulting $700 that they raised helped 54 bursary students to enjoy a Catholic education.

Finally, 62 students participated in a fundraising challenge for Running for Premature Babies, supporting neonatal units in hospitals. Students raised over $3,000 for this important cause.

These are a snapshot of the many fundraising initiatives that St Clare’s College students have spearheaded in 2023. They have provided wonderful opportunities for our students and staff to selflessly help those  in need, drawing on our collective qualities of Christian charity and service to others.
